Use Case: When a user cannot print from the soda application, or does not have the soda app (ACS) installed on their workstation.

Questions/Steps to isolate the issue:
Step 1
Send test print page to the document printer; Local printers/printer must print a Windows test page.
Log into frasadmin and connect to the store's WS using the format Eg: 2014WS102.
Open the control Panel, locate selected printer and open printer properties. Then Print test Page
Open the control Panel, locate selected printer and open printer properties.
Then Print test page
- Set the correct Default printer in Windows.
Step 2
DRIVERS: Make sure Printers are using Universal print drivers, some printers may come with model specific drivers e.g HP E40040 V4 driver
Always change to the printer's Universal print driver.
HP printers : HP Universal Printing PCL 6
Dell: Open Print Driver
EPSON: Universal Print driver
SAMSUNG: Universal Print driver
These drivers can be gotten from frasadmin, open file manager > RgShare drive

SODA: prefer HP Universal Printing PCL6; in ACS choose HP LaserJet 5 series even for many non‑HP printers.
IF WORKSTATION DOES NOT HAVE SODA ICON Create SODA Printer Session (ACS 5250) with the steps below:
- IBM i ACS → 5250 Session Manager → New → Printer session.
3. Create a Soda Printer Session
- Open Access Client Solutions.
- Select 5250 Session Manager.
- Click New Printer Session.
4. Configure Printer Session Settings
- Session Name → Enter the station/Soda name.
- Destination Address → Enter FHEG-AS401.
- Destination Port → Set to 992.
- Protocol → Set to Telnet TLS/SSL.
- Workstation ID → Use format: S-StoreNumber-PP-WorkstationNumber.
E.g (S0092PP102) - Auto Connect → Set to Yes.
- Auto Reconnect → Set to No
.
5. Configure OS/400 Printer Settings
- Click Advanced (left side of the screen).
- Navigate to OS/400 Options.
- Select the correct printer type:
- For HP Printers → HP Color LaserJet Family.
- For Non-HP Printers (e.g., Samsung, Canon) → HP LaserJet 5 Series.
- Open Printer Setup to verify the correct model.
6. Save and Apply Settings
- Click OK.
- Select File, then save it to the desktop.
- Name the file: SODA101 (Number = WS number)
7. Move .hod file to Public Desktop
- Close all applications.
- Open the saved file.
- Navigate to: File Explorer → This PC → Windows (C:) → Users → Public.
- In the empty space beside Public, click and type \desktop.
- Paste the saved file from the desktop into Public Desktop.
8. Launch the Application (if .hod file is not showing the “i” icon, follow the steps below)
- Please right click on "Soda 102" named icon on your desktop
- Click on "open with"
- Click on "more apps"
- Scroll down to "look for another app on this PC" and click
- This will open up file explorer.
- Click this PC > Select Windows (C:) > Users > Public > IBM > Client Solutions
- Open Start Programs.
- Select Windows_x86-64 (last file).
- Select acslaunch_win-64 to run the application.
- You should Now See The Application On The Desktop Displaying The "Client Solutions - i " Logo
